Typography is a critical part of a brand’s visual identity. Selecting the right font to represent your brand has never been more important than during this age of visual content. Your font helps convey your brand’s tone and messaging and it can evoke an emotive response from your audience. Many brands have primary and secondary fonts that are used in their collateral and communications. These fonts are usually easy to read and access (Georgia, Garamond, Arial, etc) and are used in body copy (sentences and paragraphs). Incorporating a script font into your design can draw attention to your headings or particular sections of your content.
Why and when should you use a Script Font?
Design consensus is that script fonts are best used for headings and stand-alone text. Script fonts can be difficult to read, so it’s best to limit their use to a small number of words, rather than long sentences or paragraphs. Script fonts can be used as companion fonts to your primary font. Pairing a script font with a serif/sans serif font can call attention to areas of your content, or evoke feelings from your audience.
Handwritten/Script fonts are often chosen by content creators in the travel, wedding, blogging and self-care industries as they bring life and movement to a design. Free-flowing, handwritten-style fonts evoke a sense of freedom or adventure, especially when combined with beautiful imagery. Script fonts can also evoke romance and elegance when used in invitations and marketing collateral. Many bloggers use script fonts to add a personal touch to their collateral.

Eight beautiful script fonts
It can be easy to get caught up looking at fonts and different typography on font websites. However, not everyone has the time (or the inclination) to spend hours scouring for fonts to use into their branding, marketing collateral and content creation, so I’ve rounded up eight beautiful fonts that are all available through Creative Market. I have used several of these in content pieces for clients, including invitations, posters, brochures and business cards.
